Our Story

Welcome to Zaneca Aussies

We are located in Western Pennsylvania on a five generation full-time working farm. After almost one hundred years of a dairy/grain operation, we recently transitioned to beef/grain. We have raised our children and lived along with our Australian Shepherds on my husband’s family farm (Green Lawn Farms) for over thirty years.

Our kennel name is a combination of our children’s names, Zane and Neca and is registered with both the Australian Shepherd Club of America and the American Kennel Club.

We raise Australian Shepherds that conform to the ASCA breed standard and believe in breeding Australian Shepherds that are versatile: ones that can be therapy dogs to those who can master the agility course and be functioning working dogs on the farm, as well as loyal companions.

Many of our puppies go on to successfully compete in Herding, Rally, Obedience, Agility, Dock Diving, FAST CAT, Scent Work, Flyball, and Therapy work.

Healthy genetics are extremely important to us. The dogs we breed have their eyes tested yearly by a certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist, have OFA Hips Excellent or Good and Elbows Normal.  Our dogs are tested for all genetic issues including CEA, Cataract, MDR1, PRA, CMR1, and DM and must be free of any hereditary disorder before breeding.

THe little dog with a lot of fight

What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight; it’s the size of the fight in the dog.” —Dwight D. Eisenhower

Meet Zaneca Aussies most famous dog, Boomer. She is best known for saving her owner from a black bear attack. Yes, I said a bear! Her heroic behavior won her not only awards and fame, but also the hearts of many who read the articles of the dramatic event.
